This listing is for a custom magic the gathering Commander deck. This is a complete ready-to-play 100-card EDH deck, and all of the cards are authentic English-version magic cards. I took several pictures that show all of the cards in the deck, so please look at those pictures so you can see what all of the cards do and how they interact with each other.
Summary
This Marrow-Gnawer EDH deck seeks to assemble a horde of rat creatures, exploiting their multiplicative potential. The deck's core strategy revolves around sacrificing these rats to trigger synergistic effects, often fueled by Marrow-Gnawer's ability to generate tokens. By utilizing sacrifice outlets, recursion, and tribal support, the deck aims to overwhelm opponents with a relentless army of rodents. The end goal is to achieve a critical mass of rats, leveraging their combined strength to control the board, disrupt opponents, and secure a victory through combat or draining our opponents.
Marrow-Gnawer!
Marrow-Gnawer is a sneaky rogue, and a leader of rats. His dark troupe of vermin all have fear, which allows a creature to only be blocked by black or artifact creatures. This is very powerful as you turn your rats into unblockable threats on most players, or at least drastically limit their defensive options.
If that wasn't good enough, Gnawer has an activated ability. By tapping him, you can double the number of rats you have in play. He even counts himself in this number! Gnawer and two other rats will turn into six total rats, which turns into twelve the next turn! Thats a lot of rats!
The Gameplan
Unlike a lot of commanders, we don't necessarily want to play out Marrow-Gnawer as soon as we can. Rather, we'd like to get a decent board of rats already set up first, so that when we activate his ability, we're getting more than one or two rat tokens.
Don't be scared to sacrifice rats! Most of them are very small and we are quick to make more.
Make sure to stay aggressive with rats. Our creatures are small, and while we do have late game potential, we will often get out valued by decks with bigger creatures. The best way to stop this is to simply make our opponents life total zero!
Tips and tricks
A number of rats, such as Karumonix, the Rat King, can give opponents poison counters. A player who receives 10 of these dies immediately, regardless of life. Kind of like commander damage. Try to get those on people before they can block!
Crashing Drawbridge might not look like much, but a repeatable team wise haste enabler is very strong. You can have marrow gnawer activate on the turn you play him, or make his army able to attack immediately. Look for explosive turns with this innocuous looking bridge out.
Dropping a Twisted Sewer-Witch after activating our commander can make a ton of wicked roles, which means that our opponents are taking a ton of unavoidable damage! Mirkwood Bats wants to be played right before you activate for lots of damage. Patron of the Nezumi can be flashed in at instant speed by sacrificing a rat, which often is one that might have died anyways. If someone is trying to kill your commander, you can get him in for only two black! And the pain drain train continues! Most if not all of these cards are in Near Mint or Mint condition. Here is the complete list.
