You are Omnath, an elemental force of mana and destruction, revered across all of Zendikar. A chaotic being of primeval origin, you have only two goals: to fight and to adapt. Fearing your ever-increasing power, you were imprisoned in Ondu long ago. However, you managed to escape and harness a new wellspring of strength by merging with the fury of the mountains. This transformation has rendered you even more formidable than ever before. Harnessing the power of the lands Omnath is a mighty commander with a straightforward yet potent strategy: he must take to the battlefield swiftly. To achieve this, the deck is packed with ramp spells designed to accelerate your mana base and bring Omnath into play as quickly as possible. Once summoned, Omnath's power is unleashed through the accumulation of lands, creating an army of colossal elementals that will overwhelm your adversaries. Ramp spells such as Cultivate and Farhaven Elf serve the dual purpose of advancing your mana base to cast Omnath early in the game while also fueling the creation of elementals in the late game. Some of these spells might require you to sacrifice or destroy one of your lands, like Harrow, but don't worry—you can recover your dominion over them with cards like Perennial Behemoth, The Mending of Dominaria, Reap the Past, and Titania, Protector of Argoth. Double-Dipping Titania, Protector of Argoth can be seen as the perfect complement to Omnath. While Omnath creates elementals when lands enter the battlefield, Titania creates them when lands leave it. This synergy can be incredibly powerful. For example, after Titania enters the battlefield, you can return a land like Evolving Wilds, or Terramorphic Expanse to the field. Omnath will generate a new elemental when the land enters the battlefield. When you sacrifice the land, Titania will create another elemental, and when you fetch a land, Omnath will generate yet another elemental. With Perennial Behemoth in play, you can do this every turn. If you also have Mina and Denn, Wildborn, you can generate up to six elementals per turn. Living Twister and Gruul Turf can return any land to your hand, allowing you to replay it on a later turn and ensuring a constant supply of elementals. The Rage Within While formidable, a freshly generated elemental has to wait a whole turn cycle before being able to do anything useful, like attacking. This is why you have plenty of enchantments able to harness their molten essence. Garruk's Uprising will reward you with a card for every elemental created while also giving them trample. Cactusfolk Sureshot will give them haste, so they can attack straight away! Even better, Warstorm Surge and Where Ancients Tread will allow you to transform every new elemental that is big enough into a removal spell, or just burn your foes to a crisp by damaging them directly. Elemental Affinity Omnath's elementals aren't the only danger at your disposal. Rubblehulk, Beanstalk Giant, and Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer will grow larger the more lands you have. Rampaging Baloths will create even more massive bodies, and every elemental that dies will trigger Omnath's second ability to Lightning Bolt something. This includes elementals that are evoked like Foundation Breaker or those conjured by Chandra, Acolyte of Flame and Force of Rage. Please note that the ones evoked by the +1 ability of Chandra, Flamecaller will not trigger Omnath because they will be exiled at the end of the turn. However, keep in mind that you get to attack with them. If they connect with an opponent, they deal damage; if they get blocked and die, they will still trigger Omnath, forcing your opponent into a lose-lose situation. Tricks of the Bean Finally, here’s a list of secrets that will make you an even better Omnath player. The list isn’t complete because the rest is up to you to discover: • Omnath's early game is its weakest phase. Your opponents will try to capitalize on this by attacking you early. Make them pay by casting Jaheira's Respite, allowing you to cast Omnath even earlier. • Chandra, Acolyte of Flame can cover many roles during a game. Her various abilities can boost her own and Chandra, Flamecaller’s loyalty, generate expendable elementals ready to be turned into damage, and her ultimate ability allows you to cast most ramp spells you’ve already used a second time. • Slagwoods Bridge can be targeted by both Cleansing Wildfire and Dire-Strain Rampage, ramping you in the process. In the end, even Eldrazi will fear facing you in battle.
