General Summary: This Commander deck embraces the primal might of ape tribal, harnessing the power of these ferocious creatures to overwhelm opponents on the battlefield. Kibo, with his ability to create banana tokens and give many team wide buffs, becomes the linchpin of this beastly strategy. The deck focuses on building a massive ape army, leveraging their strength and resilience to trample over adversaries and secure victory.
What Makes Kibo Special: Kibo, Uktabi Prince stands out as a unique commander for an ape tribal deck due to his ability to generate banana tokens , which technically benefit everyone. However, our opponents using these bananas spells disaster for them, as our team gets bigger and bigger. We however, have no such concerns, and can use Kibo as a mana dork, or bank bananas for a big turn later on.
Gameplan: The gameplan revolves around quickly playing out a significant enough number of apes. Early game we focus of getting some extra mana, maybe convicing our opponents to leave our commander alone since "we're ramping you!" Even if our opponents don't want to play along and sacrifice their bananas, cards like echoing ruin or curious herd makes them suddenly very eager!
Eventually, Kibo and the others begome larger and larger. We can win by giving trample to the team with Overrun or Duskshell crawler, or just muscling down our opponents and destroying their puny blockers. We are mostly a midrange deck, as we are really dependant on getting set up, then setting down our opponents. Letting our opponents develop mana rocks or other value artifacts doesn't hurt either, as a well timed Fade from History or Anzrag's Rampage will be able to give everyone an absurd boost, leading to an easy alpha strike.
Liquimetal Coating and Liquimetal Torque are two all star cards. The ability to turn an opponents permanent into an artifact opens it up to all of our artifact removal, and get a kibo trigger off it. There's a lot of creative ways to use these cards.
